Order now to receive it with an autograph.
"Urbanator" is a legendary album, a milestone in the fusion of jazz and hip hop, recorded and produced in 1989 in New York by Michal Urbaniak. The album features outstanding artists such as Herbie Hancock, Lenny White, Michael Brecker, Randy Brecker, Kenny Garrett, Tom Browne, Muckhead, Jane Getter, Solid, Fred Welsh, Dziko, Jon Dryden, Spaceman, Marcus Miller, Bernard Wright...
The album was recorded innovatively in 1989, as it creatively and hybridly combined live studio playing with computer programming of some of the music. The whole concept and production, as for those times, was pioneering.
George Benson commented on "Urbanator" as follows:
"Michal Urbaniak have really came up with something great on this album. I believe that Jazz Music Has found another workable rhythm that does not take away from the improvisational aspect or the partnership that rhythm and melody must have in order to work.
Many musicians are finding it more comfortable to work with today’s “Jazz with HipHop” format. There is a “freshness” to be found in every one these tracks, witch Urbanator has given new life. What am I’m saying is evident in the track “Chameleon”, which features none other than Magnificent Herbie Hancock."
